The challenge of creating the Teddy bear Replica 1925 was a formidable one. First, Steiff Schulte had to re-create the lovely faded violet mohair in a shade that exactly matched the original. Then the fabric mill had to delicately bleach the tips of the mohair to achieve a unique a frosted effect - simulating years of exposure to sunlight. The artisans at Steiff Schulte tell us this was no easy task. And yet, they succeeded beautifully, making it possible for us to present this wonderful replica to collectors everywhere. The Teddy bear Replica 1925 features a hand-stitched nose of apricot floss. The Teddy bear also has airbrushing around its paw pads to simulate subtle aging. It is stuffed with kapok and has hand-blown glass pupil eyes.
